It started as a facebook conversation in June of 2015.

Why (it was wondered "aloud" to whomever was reading that day) wasn't there a large scale vegfest in an area like the Hudson Valley, a place literally filled with vegetables and veg farms, and home to many vegan startups, meetups and organizations?"

The conversation continued and the rest, as they say, is history. After years of working both independently and at local non-profits centered on vegan advocacy and lifestyle, traveling to table at other Vegfests far and wide, assisting on vegan and animal rights events and more, friends Sande Nosonowitz and Rebecca Moore decided to work together to bring a first class Vegfest "home" to the Hudson Valley.

Hudson Valley Vegfest LLC was born, and brings together our combined experience (Sande's work in film production, vegan education and writing for Living & Being Magazine, and Rebecca's years of working at local sanctuaries and rescues as well as arts non-profits, helping to produce fundraising, educational and awareness events). Our goal is to produce vegan promotional and educational events year round, but our signature, annual event will be Hudson Valley Vegfest. Debuting in September of 2017, this event will take place in beautiful, centrally-located Poughkeepsie, NY at the incredible, 42,000 square foot indoor domed event space known as "The Net" at Gold's Gym.

The glorious Hudson Valley - its businesses and communities - deserve a first class event that not only showcases the health, abundance and compassionate living that is rooted in these communities, but which aims to attract and foster more growth in these sectors. With veganism a growing billion dollar industry, we will showcase the absolute best of everything green, vegetable, plant-based, healthy and compassionate in the Hudson Valley, while at the same time throwing down the welcome mat to more vegan and AR organizations and businesses from afar, to shine a bigger spotlight on everyone and demonstrate that the Hudson Valley is perfectly positioned to be a leader and center in the new and growing vegan economy.

Whether you take part as a sponsor, vendor, speaker or presenter, whether you attend by yourself or with friends or your entire class, we plan to make Hudson Valley Vegfest a joyful experience you won't forget!
